Card for my Mother-in-Laws B-Day

I've been on a bit of a hiatus from crafting lately.  Partially due to the death of my father in May.  His illness came on suddenly and it turned out that he had Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease.  Its very rare, 1 in 1 million.  Thankfully it was very quick.  So this is my first card I've made since his death.  I used my new Cricut lite cartridge Lacy Labels, sold exclusively at Walmart.  I welded two shapes together to make the card.  The trim is from the cartridge.  The center stamp is one that I found on sale at Walmart.  It turned out great and my husband really likes it.  He loves that I make his cards for him because he really doesn't like going to the store to pick one out.

Quilled gift

Another quilling project.  I made this for my sister-in-laws mother.  She made all the fresh flowers for my fathers memorial service.  This was a thank you gift for her. I put it in the top of a box that I bought at Michaels.  The top had a glass cover that opened up to put an item on the top.  It also had a drawer that pulled out from the bottom.  I put the quilling under the top cover.

Everyday Card

I made this everyday card using a sizzix embosser for the dots.  I cut the circle out with my cricut using accent essentials.  The stamp is from JustRite stamps.  Then I used my PanPastels to add some color.  I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for yet but I'm sure I'll find a purpose.

Birthday Card

This is a birthday card for my mom's Birthday tomorrow.  The flowers in the center are prima flowers.  The dragonfly stamp is from Bubawumps.  I colored them in with PanPastels also from Bubawumps.  PanPastels are the best coloring solution I've found so far.  The come in .30fl oz, which seems small but they last forever.  They sell for $6.00 a piece and come in many colors.  However, you can just get the primary colors and then use white or black to change the tint.

Mothers Day gift

I made this for my mother for a Mothers Day gift.  The glue isn't quite dry yet.  I took the picture right after I glued it down.  I'm putting it into a shadow box frame.  Michaels's had a sale on frames so I was able to pick this one up for less than $6 with the 20% off coupon.  I'm definetely going to have to buy some more frames when they go on sale.  I already have people asking me if I can make something for them.  Update:  My mom loved it.  She is already looking for a place to hang it up.

2nd Quilling Project

I decided to turn this one into a gift for Mothers day. This one is for my Mother-in-Law. I decided to frame it in a shadowbox frame with a black background.  I took the Happy Mothers day off of it and used it on a card instead.

Paper Quilling

Here is my 1st attempt at paper quilling.  I actually found quilling to be quite easy and fun.  I find it really relaxing and satisfying when you are able to create some really unique crafts.

My 4H project when I was 14

I would have to say this is one of the best projects I ever worked on and it turned out awesome.  The most amazing thing is I was only 14 at the time.  I made it for 4-H at the time.  I won first place with it.   It has been displayed in my parents home and now in my own home.  I love how it turned out.
